Road tripping!!

I really am road tripping now! We have spent the last two days driving over 800kms from just north of Whistler where we stayed overnight in a very neat and tidy, but lower services campsite on the banks of a river, all the way to Jasper in the northern Canadian Rockies.  Now we are seeing really BIG mountains. There are so many in the 2000 - 6000m+ height range! A bit cloudy at the moment so hoping for better weather over the next few days. We are having coffee at Tim Hortons to use the wifi as our campsite for tonight does not have wifi, but it does have chipmunks and elk which we have already seen, and apparently there are bears too.

I read somewhere that British Columbia has 14 different biogeographic regions and is very diverse. This is true. Here are a few photos to show you some of the varied landscapes we drove through yesterday. Plus there was quite a lot of what they call ranchlands ie beef farms and rolling hills and scattered trees which if you replaced the pine trees with gum trees might have resembled a lot of mainland Australia. But mostly, the vegetation is quite different to Australia and very very green - more green that north west Tassie! (my apologies for typos in this post but I haven't got my glasses with me - the problems of growing old!)
