Lakes

A week in the Lakes District in England. We are renting a house one minute walk from here - the stream that flows through the centre of the village of Coniston.
And a few minutes walk from the lake the stream flows into - Lake Coniston.
Lovely walk along the lake shore - one of many walks that start in Coniston.
And about 20 minutes drive from here - Lake Windermere - the largest lake in England.

Yes, we did what tourists have been doing here since Victorian times. How could we not come to the Lakes and not do the cruise?

There  were only about 50 passengers on our boat so it was not crowded but it didn't feel empty either. It is licensed to carry 537 passengers, and I reckon it is often full during the school holidays here. Lucky for us the holidays don't start until next week.
