Seaside to mountains

Homes I could actually live in (unlike the previous post)

Aberdaron is a very old village located ln the far qestern tip of the Llyn Peninsula. It used to be the last place pilgrims visited  before attempting to cross the sound to Bardsey Island, where about 20,000 are buried. King Arthur is supposedly buried there.
In Australia we think a building is old if it is 150 years old. This tiny cafe called The Big Kitchen, dates from 1300 (over 700 years old) It was set up for the pilgrims to have their last meal before going to Bardsey Island.

Plas yn Rhiw - a 17th century manor house rescued and renovated by three sisters in the early 20th century. It is a perfect size, with eclectic features and old furnishings, beautiful gardens and a million dollar ocean view, but it is reached by driving on a narrow hedge and stone-walled winding road with lots of blind corners. There are many roads like these in Britain, which are rather nerve wracking for us Aussies who are used to lots of space.

Beddgelert is the most beautiful old village in the Snowdonia mountains. The Welsh red dragon comes from near here, apparently.
