The island of Skye is the largest of Scotland's many islands, but it can be reached by bridge.
It has a pretty waterfront area in its main town, Portree.
The much filmed castle of Eilean Donan is on the way to Skye. We only stopped to take a quick photo. What you can not see in my photo are the 6 big tour buses and 50 or so cars in the car park.
Dunvegan Castle on Skye. We did go into this one. It has been the home of the chief of the MacLeod clan for over 800 years, making it the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland. (And only 2 tour buses)
And of course, Skye has mountains and dramatic scenery aplenty.
