Cake!!

Cakes! Huge cakes! In Hawkshead where Sheryl has lots of ancestors. Very appropriate.
For our final day in The Lakes we had cake for lunch. 18 inch diameter cakes! The slice was so huge I had to leave some on the plate. The cafe was quirky and half Irish. Was it a coincidence that Ireland was our destination the next day?
Hawkshead is small and very pretty.

We walked off the cake by climbing a big hill for a view over the Windemere Lake in one direction and the Hawkshead in the other.
The cloud and rain came down. We had to laugh!
We saw a large hawk sitting on a gate along the track near the village. A hawk in Hawkshead!
