Gnomes and tigers

Wellington Dam near Collie has a mega-mural.

And a decent network of mountain bike trails as well as walking tracks. I went riding for a couple of hours.

And watching black cockatoos watching me.
As I drove south, I encountered Gnomesville. It is huge and weird and made me smile.
Started by a local who placed a gnome in a tree stump after a round-about was installed and then other people began adding gnomes. It now stretches for a couple of hundred metres in bushland beside the road, and people still add gnomes. There must thousands of them.
In the next rural locality, they have started a similar thing but with frogs.

My destination was the small town of Nannup. It is a little hippy, a little hipster, and very bike friendly. This is the reception of the caravan park where I stayed.
I exlored the town on my bike. The Blackwood River flows around the edge of the town.
I found some nice trails along the river and heading out of town.
A small jump park that was fun to ride.
Nannup also has a thing for thylacines. Some people believe they still live in the hills. There are tiger statues all over town.

I like Nannup. The town has a nice relaxed feel, and the next morning I discovered another reason to like Nannup even more - the Tank 7 Mountain Bike Park on the edge of town.
