I awoke on my first morning in Britain, not to the melodious twittering of little English birds at sunsrise but something that sounded like a cross between a loud seagull squawk and a kookburra laughing. Bath, which is inland, not on the coast, apparently has a seagull problem.
These birds are a larger variety than our common gulls in Australia. I expected to see pigeons in Bath but not these big bold birds.
