Black and white

We are now in merry olde England. After a day of horrid boring motorway driving (six lanes of racing traffic, lots of big trucks, no cute villages to drive through, not even much in the way of views) from Scotland down into England, we decided on our second day of driving, to take the slower, slightly less travelled route on smaller two laned roads to the Cotswolds.

We stopped at three towns along the way, all of which had black and white buildings with crooked walls and floors, dating back to the 1500s and 1600s, and churches and a castle, even older.

Nantwich - what a great building for a bookshop and cafe.
Huge medieval church, beautifully decorated inside with a variety of eras of stained glass windows, embroidered banners and cushions on pews.
And incredibly detailed carved wooden choir stalls.

And then, after getting lost for a bit on tiny single lane country roads we arrived here:
No, we are not staying in Hazle Manor. We are in the cottage behind the big house,
 which has been beautifully renovated

Our home for the next week! Heavenly! X
