Tunnelling and pedalling

Monsal trail - a disused railway line that has been turned into a 8.5 mile (13.6km) shared use trail. We hired bikes to ride from one end and back again.

The trail took us over several bridges and the high Monsal Viaduct. Sheryl is up there on the viaduct, taking a picture of me taking a picture!
One of the old stations that is now a cafe and bike hire shop.
There were lots of arched bridges carrying roads over the track.
Views of one of the original mills, taken  from the Monsal Viaduct. Like many mills, it has been redeveloped into residential apartments.
Monsal Viaduct valley view, on the other side to the mill.
Two railway bridges side by side, near one of the other old stations. The higher one is not used now.
Another viaduct taken from a beautiful stream side road we found at the end of the trail.
Tunnels! These were a bit of fun to ride through. There are 6 tunnels, three of which are quite long (300-400m) and have lights inside.
